Why 'fooyin'?

The name is based on 'foo' from foobar and the chinese 音 (yīn), meaning 'sound'. It's also a play on 福音 (fúyīn), meaning 'good news'.

Why doesn't fooyin use my system theme?

As fooyin is built using Qt6, it will follow the system Qt style. If you're using a non-Qt DE such as GNOME or Cinnamon, you will need to install something like qt6ct.

Why can't fooyin read a directory or why does it fail to find a previously added directory on restart?

The Flatpak sandbox restricts filesystem access, so fooyin cannot freely read directories outside of its allowed scope. To resolve this, you must grant fooyin access to your music directories and any required paths using a tool such as Flatseal.
